They say the first year...

Well, Ladies and Germs, we made it.
Chris and I celebrated our one year anniversary of being wed this weekend. I can't even believe it. I am apologizing in advance if I get too shmoopy. I will try my best to keep it at a minimum.

On January 11th, 2008 we were sealed in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple. It was an incredible experience. And the rest of the day went on swimmingly. Honestly, I feel like I had the perfect wedding. Everything was just how I have always wanted it, except it being in the fall...but whateves...

And this weekend was the perfect one year celebration. We had a really nice dinner at "The best Italian Restaurant in Salt Lake City" rated by Zagats, called Lugano's. It defanately did not disappoint. I got us this bonsai tree at Cactus and Tropicals because 1) that is were we had our reception and B) we had a tree like this when we were dating and we killed it, so I thought we would give is another go. I had it waiting on the table of the restauarant when we got there. We named him Secret Little Tree.

After we stuffed ourselves we were off to the lovely Anniversary Inn. We spent our wedding night there so it was fun to be back. I love that place. It's fun and a good place to feel like you are out of town. We watched Waiting for Guffman (which we watched on our first date) and watched our wedding video. In the morning we had breakfast in bed and drove back up to Logan.

Thanks to Chris's mom for saving our wedding cake, we got to eat it tonight. It didn't look too hot but it tasted pretty darn good once it thawed out. It was accompanied by our faveorite tea we got on our honeymoon.

Tomorrow we are back to school and work and the real world but it was a perfect weekend to relax and take time to be a little romantic.
I adore being married to Chris. I couldn't have dreamed of a better husband. He is so good to me and we just have so much freakin fun together.

They say that the first year of marriage is the hardest but to us, marriage isn't hard. It defanately could be but we just choose easy and it's great. This has no doubt been the best year of my life.

And if I didn't gross you out too much with this blog.... Here is some video from our reception done by the wonderful and talented David Perry. Who knows, you might be in it.

Aw...that wasn't too shmoopy. I wanted so badly to go to your wedding. I still can't believe I haven't met Chris yet! I am so excited that you won my little sweepstakes. I know exactly what I'm going to make for you...you'll have to be patient but it will be worth the wait!

Happy Anniversary my sweet girl!

I can't believe that was a year ago! I am so glad you put that video on because Dan and I had to leave early from the reception, so we missed a lot of the festivities. Congrats!
